Western Line Projects

Western line Projects LLC (WLP) was started in 1996 as a Project Development Company by Saleem Q Al Zawawi and David Burton.

The first projects included:

  • A 200,000 barrel per day Oil Refinery to be located in Salalah
  • A 24 inch to 36 inch Spiral Pipe Plant with an associated Coating plant in Oman
  • A fishing boat project for Ministry of Agriculture, youth ownership scheme
  • A Produced Water Project for PDO
  • A small Waste to Energy UHTH Plant for PDO to clean up their general Oil Field waste*
  • Project Logistics for a UK security company “Pointer UK Ltd to assist with and manage a bid for Bank Muscat, which was awarded to them via WLP, we also assisted them with the Vale project in Sohar.

* Subsequently we carried on with the Waste to Energy Technology and in 2010 formed New Centre Energy LLC.
** Subsequently we formed Pointer LLC with them and it is now one of the best security companies in Oman.

As a result of the work done on various projects we were asked to act as local representatives for a few companies, therefore the Agency Division was started, and because of our reputation with our clients the Division is growing

On the journey we discovered a niche market in the IT world mainly “Information Security” and “Information Integration” which prompted us to start the “Infrastructure Services Division” which has attracted many agency requests in its own right.

With its office base in Qurum and a dedicated staff nucleus of experienced professionals to administer the day to day running’s of the Company.  Projects usually have a dedicated team consisting of senior staff and a set of key seconded personnel usually from within the organisation or key participating agencies.

Saleem Al-Zawawi

Saleem Q. Al Zawawi is a well-known Omani business and entrepreneur who concepted WLP to assist in getting the ground work done for major projects. From there it developed to a multi divisional company to service the Information Security infrastructure and associated fields. Specific Agencies related to the new available technologies that would be beneficial for Oman, and the Projects Division which could also assist the expansion or integration of the other two divisions into ongoing projects.
